Say what you will about the merits of Nirvana’s music (especially in comparison to their Seattle contemporaries) there is no denying that Kurt Cobain was an amazing troll.

In Nirvana’s only performance on Top of the Pops, frontman Kurt Cobain “played” his guitar with his fingers inches away from the frets (and occasionally clutched the microphone to make it obvious that he was not playing), drummer Dave Grohl danced around in his seat for most of the performance, and bassist Krist Novoselic waved his instrument around his head. Cobain also sang in a low, dramatic opera voice, later claiming he was trying to impersonate Morrissey.

Porno For Pyros - Orgasm

Performed Live on Jools Holland in 1993. This was originally from their 1993 self-titled album, Porno For Pyros.

Gotta love the Peter DiStefano’s Page-influenced use of the bow on his guitar. He knows what he’s doing and he’s getting exactly the sound he wants out of it. Very trippy.
